Xiaomi 18 Pro India Launch Confirmed : 200MP Cameras, Snapdragon 8 Elite Chip and More

Xiaomi has confirmed that the Xiaomi 18 Pro will launch in India, marking the company's next major flagship smartphone release in the country. The announcement was made by Xiaomi India at Snapdragon Day during the ongoing India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2026. While the company has yet to reveal the exact launch date, the smartphone is expected to arrive in the coming months.

The Xiaomi 18 Pro was launched in China a few weeks ago and features Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 processor, a 6.4-inch LTPO AMOLED display, and a dual 200-megapixel rear camera system. The handset also features a secondary display on the back, adding another distinctive element to its flagship design.

According to the announcement, the Xiaomi 18 Pro will join upcoming smartphones such as the iQOO 16 and Motorola Signature 27 among the first devices in India powered by the new Qualcomm chipset.

Xiaomi 18 Pro India Launch Details

Gautam Batra, Associate Director of Product Marketing at Xiaomi India, confirmed the Xiaomi 18 Pro's India launch during Snapdragon Day at IMC 2026. However, Xiaomi has not announced the official launch date or India-specific pricing details yet.

The smartphone is positioned as a compact flagship, offering high-end performance in a relatively smaller form factor. Its 6.4-inch display could make it an appealing option for users who prefer powerful smartphones that are easier to handle than larger flagship devices. The Xiaomi 18 Pro also benefits from the company's partnership with Leica, which contributes to its camera experience, imaging features, and film simulations.

Xiaomi 18 Pro Specifications and Features

Display and Design

The Xiaomi 18 Pro features a 6.4-inch flat LTPO AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The panel is rated for up to 4,000 nits of peak brightness, which should help improve visibility in bright outdoor conditions.

The rear panel houses a 2.7-inch LTPO AMOLED secondary display, which also supports a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 4,000 nits of peak brightness. This additional screen provides a distinctive design feature and could offer convenient access to selected functions.

Performance and Software

Under the hood, the Xiaomi 18 Pro is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset. It is available in China with 12GB and 16GB RAM options, alongside 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB storage configurations.

On the software front, the phone runs Android 17 with Xiaomi's HyperOS 4 interface, according to the specifications provided for the Chinese model. The software brings interface refinements and AI-powered features designed to improve the overall user experience.

Cameras

Photography is one of the Xiaomi 18 Pro's biggest highlights. The phone features a 200-megapixel primary camera based on a 1/1.28-inch Light Fusion 960 sensor, with optical image stabilisation (OIS).

The camera setup also includes a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with OIS and 3.2x optical zoom, along with a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera. A 50-megapixel front-facing camera is available for selfies and video calls.

The Leica partnership adds imaging features and film simulations intended to provide more creative control over photos.

Battery and Charging

The Chinese variant of the Xiaomi 18 Pro packs a 7,000mAh battery. It supports 100W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging.

If these specifications carry over to India, the phone could combine flagship performance with a large battery and versatile charging options. However, Xiaomi has not yet confirmed whether the Indian variant will feature exactly the same hardware.

Connectivity and Other Features

The Xiaomi 18 Pro offers Wi-Fi 7, Ultra-Wideband (UWB), USB 3.2 Gen 1 connectivity, and stereo speakers. It also includes a dedicated AI button for quick access to supported functions and carries an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.

Another notable feature is Super Pixel Display 2.0, Xiaomi's hardware-based display privacy technology. It uses dedicated privacy pixels and physical structures to limit viewing angles, helping restrict the visibility of on-screen content to people viewing the display from the side.

Xiaomi 18 Pro Price in India (Expected)

Xiaomi has not announced the India price of the Xiaomi 18 Pro. However, the smartphone is expected to occupy the premium flagship segment.

The existing Xiaomi 17 starts at Rs. 89,999 in India, while rising component costs could push the new model into a higher price bracket. The Xiaomi 18 Pro could potentially be priced above Rs. 1,00,000, although this remains an estimate rather than an official price.

More details about India-specific variants, launch offers, and availability should emerge closer to the official launch.
