Xiaomi 18 Pro, Xiaomi 18 Pro Max Launched in China With 2nm Snapdragon Chips, 200MP Cameras

Xiaomi 18 Pro and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max have been launched in China as the company's latest flagship smartphones. The new lineup comprises two models — the Xiaomi 18 Pro and the higher-end Xiaomi 18 Pro Max. Both smartphones feature a secondary display on the rear, along with triple rear camera setups and Xiaomi's latest flagship chipsets.

The Xiaomi 18 Pro series runs Xiaomi's HyperOS 4 based on Android 17 and comes with displays supporting refresh rates of up to 120Hz. Both models also feature large batteries, 100W wired charging, 50W wireless charging, and up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.

Xiaomi 18 Pro, Xiaomi 18 Pro Max Price and Availability

The Xiaomi 18 Pro price in China starts at CNY 5,999 (approximately Rs. 86,000) for the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant. The 12GB + 512GB model is priced at CNY 6,999 (approximately Rs. 1,00,000), while the 16GB + 512GB variant costs CNY 7,999 (around Rs. 1,14,000).

The top-end Xiaomi 18 Pro with 16GB RAM and 1TB storage is priced at CNY 8,999 (roughly Rs. 1,29,000). The transparent version with 16GB RAM and 1TB storage costs CNY 9,999 (approximately Rs. 1,43,000).

The Xiaomi 18 Pro Max starts at CNY 6,999 (approximately Rs. 1,00,000) for the 12GB + 256GB configuration. The 12GB + 512GB and 16GB + 512GB variants are priced at CNY 7,999 (around Rs. 1,14,000) and CNY 8,999 (roughly Rs. 1,29,000), respectively.

The 16GB + 1TB Xiaomi 18 Pro Max costs CNY 9,999 (approximately Rs. 1,43,000), while its transparent edition with the same RAM and storage configuration is priced at CNY 10,999 (around Rs. 1,57,000).

The Xiaomi 18 Pro and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max are scheduled to go on sale in China via Xiaomi's online store on September 31. Both smartphones are available in Black, Ice Peach Pink, Starry Blue, and White colour options.

Xiaomi 18 Pro, Xiaomi 18 Pro Max Specifications and Features

Both smartphones are dual-SIM devices and ship with Xiaomi's HyperOS 4 based on Android 17.

The Xiaomi 18 Pro features a 6.4-inch Full-HD+ AMOLED display with a resolution of 1,120 x 2,436 pixels. The panel supports a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, a 300Hz touch sampling rate, up to 4,000 nits of peak brightness, and DCI-P3 wide colour gamut.

The Xiaomi 18 Pro Max gets a larger 6.9-inch Full-HD+ AMOLED display with a resolution of 1,208 x 2,624 pixels. It offers the same 120Hz refresh rate, 300Hz touch sampling rate, up to 4,000 nits peak brightness, and DCI-P3 support.

Both models feature a new Privacy Display functionality designed to narrow the viewing angle of the screen and reduce the risk of others viewing the display from the side.

Rear Secondary Displays

One of the key design features of the Xiaomi 18 Pro series is the secondary AMOLED display on the rear panel.

The Xiaomi 18 Pro has a 2.7-inch rear AMOLED display with a resolution of 596 x 912 pixels, while the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max features a larger 2.9-inch panel with a 596 x 976-pixel resolution. Both rear screens support up to a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 4,000 nits peak brightness.

Processor and Storage

The Xiaomi 18 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chipset, while the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max uses the more powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 SoC. Both chipsets are based on a 2nm manufacturing process and have a peak clock speed of up to 5GHz.

The smartphones also feature the latest Adreno GPU and are available with up to 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage.

200MP Triple Rear Cameras

The Xiaomi 18 Pro and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max feature triple rear camera systems.

Both smartphones are equipped with a 200-megapixel primary camera with an f/1.67 aperture and optical image stabilisation (OIS). The setup also includes a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with an f/2.4 aperture and OIS, along with a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera with a 102-degree field of view.The phones can record videos at up to 8K resolution at 30 frames per second. A 50-megapixel front-facing camera handles selfies and video calls.

Battery and Charging

The Xiaomi 18 Pro packs a 7,000mAh battery, while the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max gets a significantly larger 8,500mAh battery.Both smartphones support 100W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging. They also support 27W wired reverse charging.

Connectivity and Other Features

Connectivity options on the Xiaomi 18 Pro series include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, and a USB Type-C port. The phones also support GPS, GLONASS, QZSS, NavIC, and Galileo.For security, both models feature an in-display fingerprint scanner and face unlock.

The Xiaomi 18 Pro measures 151.8 x 72 x 8.46mm and weighs approximately 203 grams. The Xiaomi 18 Pro Max measures 163.39 x 77.6 x 8.39mm and weighs about 235 grams.
