iQOO 16 Launched in China With Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, 165Hz 2K Display and 8,400mAh Battery
iQOO has officially launched the iQOO 16 in China as its latest flagship smartphone, bringing a combination of high-end performance, gaming-focused hardware and a large-capacity battery. The new smartphone was unveiled alongside the iQOO Pad Ultra and is among the first devices to feature Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 mobile platform.
The iQOO 16 also features a 6.85-inch 2K AMOLED display with a 165Hz refresh rate, a dedicated Q4 gaming chip and an upgraded vapour chamber cooling system. The phone packs an 8,400mAh battery with support for 100W wired and 40W wireless charging.
iQOO 16 Price in China and Availability
The iQOO 16 starts at CNY 5,999, which is approximately Rs. 86,000 based on direct currency conversion. The smartphone is available in four RAM and storage configurations:

The iQOO 16 is offered in three colour options that translate roughly to Chasing Light, Racing Track and Legend. The phone is currently available in China.

Specifications and Features
The iQOO 16 features a 6.85-inch Samsung M16 AMOLED display with a 2K resolution of 1,440 x 3,168 pixels. The panel supports a refresh rate of up to 165Hz, along with up to 2,800 nits of full-screen peak brightness and higher local peak brightness.The display also supports up to 5,000Hz instantaneous touch sampling, making it particularly suited to gaming and other applications that require fast touch response. iQOO has also used its LEAD display technology and an anti-reflective coating on the panel.
For durability, the smartphone carries IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance. It also features an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor.
Hardware and Performance
The biggest highlight of the iQOO 16 is its Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset, built using a 2nm manufacturing process. The processor can reach a maximum clock speed of up to 5.01GHz.The chipset is paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage. iQOO has also included its dedicated Q4 gaming chip to enhance graphics performance and gaming features.
For thermal management, the phone uses an upgraded vapour chamber with an 8,500-square-millimetre heat dissipation area. The cooling system is designed to help maintain performance during demanding gaming sessions.
Camera
The iQOO 16 comes with a triple rear camera system, featuring three 50-megapixel sensors.The primary camera uses a 1/1.3-inch sensor and supports optical image stabilisation (OIS). It is accompanied by a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with OIS. The telephoto camera supports 3x optical zoom and up to 100x digital zoom.
For selfies and video calls, the smartphone has a 32-megapixel front camera. The rear camera system can record videos at up to 8K resolution at 30fps.
Battery and Charging
The iQOO 16 packs a large 8,400mAh battery, making battery capacity one of the major highlights of the new flagship.
The battery supports 100W wired fast charging and 40W wireless charging. iQOO has also introduced a direct-drive power mode that can supply power directly to the phone during demanding gaming sessions, helping reduce reliance on the battery.
Software and Connectivity
The iQOO 16 runs OriginOS 7 based on Android 17. Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4 and USB Type-C.The phone also supports GPS, BeiDou, GLONASS, Galileo and QZSS navigation systems. Other features include an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner and dual-SIM support.
The handset measures approximately 163.75 x 76.90 x 8.30mm, although thickness and weight vary slightly depending on the colour variant. The lightest version weighs around 222.5 grams.
