Samsung One UI 9 Update Starts Rolling Out to Galaxy S26 Series With New AI and Privacy Features

Samsung has officially started rolling out the stable Android 17-based One UI 9 update to compatible Galaxy devices. The latest version of Samsung's custom Android interface was first introduced with the Galaxy Z Fold 8 series and Galaxy Z Flip 8 in July and is now expanding to the Galaxy S26 lineup.

The One UI 9 rollout follows months of beta testing and brings a range of new features, including enhanced privacy tools, camera improvements and additional Galaxy AI capabilities. Samsung is expected to expand the update to more Galaxy smartphones and tablets in the coming weeks.

Samsung Begins Rolling Out One UI 9

Samsung announced the stable One UI 9 rollout in a newsroom post on Wednesday. The company has confirmed that the update is currently available for the Samsung Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+ and Galaxy S26 Ultra.

Based on Android 17, One UI 9 introduces new Galaxy AI features alongside additional privacy and security controls. Samsung says the update will gradually become available on other compatible Galaxy devices.

One of the notable additions is Privacy Alerts, an on-device AI-powered feature designed to identify potential privacy risks, including unnecessary attempts by apps to access certain permissions.

One UI 9 Features New Privacy and Security Tools

Samsung has added several features aimed at improving privacy and security in One UI 9.

The new Security Brief provides alerts about potential security concerns, including malware, apps installed from unknown sources and unnecessary permissions. These alerts can also appear within Now Brief.Samsung is also expanding Scam Detection to additional countries and languages, giving users more tools to identify potential scam-related activity.

The update also adds warranty and device-care information directly to the Settings menu, making it easier for users to access relevant support details.

One UI 9 Adds New Camera Features

One UI 9 brings new camera functionality with the introduction of My FanCam. The feature can automatically track a selected subject while recording video and adjust the framing to keep the subject within the shot.

Samsung has also introduced Generative Cards and Editable Cards for Now Brief, adding more ways for users to customise and interact with information displayed through the feature.

Galaxy AI Gets More Features With One UI 9

Samsung has expanded its Galaxy AI toolkit with several new and enhanced capabilities.

The update includes Now Nudge, Creative Studio, Interpreter, Document Scan and enhancements to the Voice Recorder experience.

Alongside these tools, One UI 9 combines Galaxy AI features with the new Privacy Alerts, Security Brief and Scam Detection functions to provide additional assistance while using compatible Galaxy devices.
