iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max Launched: Price in India, Specs, Features

Apple has launched the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max at its “Surprise and Shine” event on Wednesday. The new Pro models bring several upgrades over last year’s iPhone 17 Pro series, including Apple’s latest A20 Pro chipset, a new in-house C2 modem, and an upgraded 48-megapixel Fusion main camera with variable aperture.

The iPhone 18 Pro is claimed to offer up to 24 hours of battery life on a single charge, while the larger iPhone 18 Pro Max is rated to deliver up to 30 hours of usage.

iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max Price and Availability

The iPhone 18 Pro starts at $1,199 (roughly Rs. 1,14,000) for the base model with 256GB of storage. The iPhone 18 Pro Max starts at $1,299 (roughly Rs. 1,23,000) for the 256GB variant.

In India, the iPhone 18 Pro price starts at Rs. 1,64,900, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max starts at Rs. 1,79,900. Both prices are for the 256GB storage variants.The new Pro models will also be available with 512GB, 1TB and 2TB storage options. They are offered in Black, Silver, Glacier and a new Burgundy colourway.

Pre-orders for the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max will begin on September 12, with sales starting September 18.

iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max Specifications and Features

The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max ship with iOS 27, bringing new Apple Intelligence features and the company's updated Siri AI capabilities. The phones support features such as Spatial Reframing, Extend and an upgraded Clean Up tool.

The iPhone 18 Pro sports a 6.3-inch display, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max features a larger 6.9-inch screen. Both models use Super Retina XDR OLED displays with ProMotion technology and Always-On functionality.

The new Pro models feature an aluminium unibody design and retain the Action button and Camera Control introduced on their predecessors.

A20 Pro Chipset

Powering the iPhone 18 Pro series is Apple's new A20 Pro chipset, based on a 2nm-generation process. The chip features a six-core CPU with integrated Neural Accelerators, a seven-core GPU and a dual 16-core Neural Engine.Apple claims the A20 Pro offers 50 percent more memory bandwidth than the A19 Pro, up to 40 percent faster GPU performance, and up to twice the AI processing performance.

48-Megapixel Variable-Aperture Camera

The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max feature a triple rear camera system led by a 48-megapixel Fusion primary sensor with variable aperture.

This is the first time Apple has introduced adjustable aperture control on an iPhone. The feature is designed to improve low-light photography while giving users greater control over how images are captured.The updated Camera app includes Pro Controls, allowing users to manually adjust settings such as aperture, shutter speed and white balance. Apple has also upgraded Photographic Styles.

The camera system additionally includes a 48-megapixel ultrawide camera and a 48-megapixel telephoto camera. On the front, both models feature an 18-megapixel camera with autofocus and Centre Stage support.

Apple has also introduced an Apple Reference Image feature designed to help validate the authenticity of photos captured on the iPhone 18 Pro models. In Reference mode, the camera captures signed sensor data that Private Cloud Compute uses to create an unalterable reference image.

Updated Dynamic Island and Thermal System

The new iPhone models feature an updated Dynamic Island that can display up to three Live Activities simultaneously. Face ID continues to be used for authentication.For improved thermal management, Apple has redesigned the vapour chamber inside the iPhone 18 Pro series. The company says the new system has three times the surface area of the previous generation.

New C2 Modem

The iPhone 18 Pro models also feature Apple's new in-house C2 modem. Apple says the modem delivers improved cellular connectivity, faster upload speeds compared with the C1X modem and 15 percent lower energy consumption.The US versions also support mmWave connectivity.

Apple claims the iPhone 18 Pro can provide up to 36 hours of video playback, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max is rated for up to 45 hours of video playback on eSIM-only versions.For overall usage, the iPhone 18 Pro is rated to deliver up to 24 hours of battery life, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max can provide up to 30 hours on a single charge.Apple says the iPhone 18 Pro can reach 50 percent charge in around 15 minutes using a wired connection or around 30 minutes wirelessly.

The iPhone 18 Pro Max is claimed to provide around seven hours of video playback from just five minutes of wired charging.

Phone 18 Pro Series Accessories

Apple has also introduced a range of accessories for the new Pro models, including Silicone and TechWoven cases, Crossbody Straps, FineWoven Wallets and Wrist Strap accessories.
