Xiaomi 18 Fold Launched With Xring O3 Chipset, Leica Cameras and 6,000mAh Battery

Xiaomi has launched the Xiaomi 18 Fold in China as its latest book-style foldable smartphone. The new foldable arrives with a wider and more compact design, competing directly with other premium foldable smartphones such as the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8.The Xiaomi 18 Fold features a 5.38-inch cover display and a 7.58-inch foldable inner screen, both supporting a 120Hz refresh rate. It is powered by Xiaomi's new 3nm Xring O3 flagship chipset and comes with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.The foldable smartphone also features a Leica-tuned triple rear camera system, a 6,000mAh battery and support for 67W wired and 50W wireless charging. Xiaomi has started accepting pre-orders in China, with sales scheduled to begin later this month.

Xiaomi 18 Fold Price and Availability

The Xiaomi 18 Fold is priced at CNY 10,999 (approximately Rs. 1,55,000) for the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant.

The other configurations are priced as follows:

12GB + 512GB: CNY 11,999 (approximately Rs. 1,69,000)
16GB + 512GB: CNY 12,999 (approximately Rs. 1,83,000)
16GB + 1TB: CNY 14,999 (approximately Rs. 2,11,300)

The smartphone is available in Black, Nishino Red and Warm Gold White colour options.Xiaomi is also offering a Ceramic Special Edition with 16GB RAM and 1TB storage. This variant uses LPDDR6 memory and is priced at CNY 15,999 (approximately Rs. 2,25,400).The Xiaomi 18 Fold is currently available for pre-order in China, while open sales are expected to begin later this month. Details about an international launch have not been announced.

Xiaomi 18 Fold Specifications and Features

The Xiaomi 18 Fold sports a 5.38-inch AMOLED cover display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Inside, it features a larger 7.58-inch foldable AMOLED display, which also supports a 120Hz refresh rate.Both displays offer up to 4,000 nits of peak brightness. The inner display uses low-power Pol-less technology, while the cover screen is protected by Xiaomi Dragon Crystal Glass 3.0. The foldable inner panel uses flexible ultra-thin glass.Under the hood, the Xiaomi 18 Fold is powered by the company's 3nm deca-core Xring O3 AI flagship SoC. It is paired with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage, while the highest-end configuration uses LPDDR6 memory.The smartphone runs Android 17-based HyperOS 4 out of the box.

For photography, the Xiaomi 18 Fold comes with a Leica-backed triple rear camera setup.The primary camera is a 200-megapixel sensor with an f/1.7 aperture, 23mm equivalent focal length and optical image stabilisation (OIS). It is accompanied by a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with an f/2.8 aperture. The telephoto camera supports 3.5x optical zoom and 7x optical-quality zoom, along with OIS.The third camera is a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor with an f/2.4 aperture.For selfies and video calls, the Xiaomi 18 Fold features 16-megapixel cameras on both the inner and outer displays, with an f/2.2 aperture.

Xiaomi 18 Fold Battery and Charging

The Xiaomi 18 Fold packs a large 6,000mAh battery. It supports 67W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging, giving the foldable a strong combination of battery capacity and charging speeds. Despite its large battery and dual-display design, Xiaomi has kept the device relatively slim. It measures just 5.02mm when unfolded and 10.68mm when folded, while weighing 219 grams.

Xiaomi 18 Fold Connectivity and Other Features

The foldable smartphone supports a range of flagship connectivity features, including 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC and USB Type-C. It features dual Nano-SIM support and offers both side-mounted fingerprint authentication and face unlock for security. Other features include a three-microphone array, stereo speakers, Dolby Atmos and spatial audio support. The Xiaomi 18 Fold also carries IP58 and IP59 ratings for dust and water resistance, adding additional protection against dust and water exposure.
