Screenless fitness trackers are gradually emerging as an alternative to conventional smartwatches and fitness bands. Google entered this segment earlier this year with the Fitbit Air, a wearable designed to focus on health and fitness tracking without a traditional display.

Instead of showing notifications or workout statistics on the wrist, the Fitbit Air relies on a connected smartphone for viewing health data, activity reports and coaching information. Google has already confirmed that the device will launch in India in October, and a new leak has now revealed a possible launch date and expected price.

According to tipster Sanju Choudhary, the Fitbit Air could launch in India on October 2. The wearable is expected to be priced between Rs. 12,999 and Rs. 13,999.

Google has not officially confirmed the launch date or Indian pricing yet. The company announced the India launch during its Pixel 11 launch event in August but did not reveal the exact availability date or price at the time.

The Fitbit Air has also reportedly appeared at some retail stores. Images shared online have shown the device in black, blue and red colour options. One retailer was reportedly selling the tracker for around Rs. 16,000.

There are also listings for the Fitbit Air on Amazon India, although these listings are reportedly not being sold through authorised sellers.

For comparison, the Fitbit Air starts at $99.99 (approximately Rs. 9,600) in the US. The Fitbit Air Stephen Curry Special Edition is priced at $129.99 (approximately Rs. 12,500).

The Fitbit Air takes a different approach from traditional fitness trackers and smartwatches. It comes without a display or physical buttons, with the compact, pebble-shaped device using haptic feedback and a status light instead.Users can access health and fitness information through the connected Google Health app on their smartphone.

The Fitbit Air is tipped to include an optical heart-rate sensor, SpO2 sensor and skin-temperature sensor, along with a three-axis accelerometer and gyroscope. It also features a vibration motor and 5ATM water resistance.

Google says the Fitbit Air supports 24/7 heart-rate and heart-rhythm monitoring, along with features such as AFib alerts, heart-rate variability (HRV), resting heart rate, sleep-stage tracking and automatic workout detection.
