Philips S7221 India Launch Imminent, Amazon Listing Reveals 5G Support and More

Philips is gearing up to launch a new smartphone in India. The Philips S7221 has appeared on an Amazon microsite, confirming that the handset will be sold through the e-commerce platform. While the company has not yet revealed its launch date or price, the listing suggests that the smartphone will arrive in India soon.

The Philips S7221 will be available with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The handset will also support 5G connectivity, positioning it as a conventional 5G smartphone in Philips' Indian portfolio.

According to the Amazon listing, the phone will feature a 120Hz display and dual stereo speakers with an Ultra Max audio feature. For photography, it will carry a 64-megapixel AI-assisted primary rear camera and a 16-megapixel front-facing camera.Images shared on the microsite reveal a flat display with a punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera. At the rear, the smartphone features a rectangular camera module positioned in the upper-left corner. Two cameras are arranged vertically, accompanied by a circular LED flash. The Philips branding is placed near the centre of the rear panel.

The Philips S7221 is shown in black and silver colour options, while another image appears to reveal a white variant. The handset has a flat frame with rounded corners, while the rear panel curves slightly towards the edges.The upcoming Philips smartphone will also have an IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance. More details, including the exact launch date and India price, are expected to be announced closer to its official debut.
