Vivo V80 India Launch Date Set for October 6; 144Hz OLED Display, Zeiss Cameras and 7,200mAh Battery Confirmed

Vivo has officially announced the India launch date of the Vivo V80. The company's upcoming V-Series smartphone will launch in India on October 6 at 12pm. The handset is expected to succeed the Vivo V70, which was introduced in the country earlier this year.

Ahead of its launch, Vivo has revealed several key details about the upcoming smartphone. The Vivo V80 is confirmed to feature a Zeiss-branded camera system, a 144Hz OLED display, a large 7,200mAh battery, and 90W FlashCharge support. It will also be the first Vivo V-Series smartphone to run Android 17-based OriginOS 7.

Vivo V80 India Launch Date and Availability

The Vivo V80 will launch in India on October 6 at 12pm. The smartphone will be available in three colour options: Sunrise Anthem, Horizon Blue, and Stellar Black.

Following its launch, the Vivo V80 will be sold through the Vivo India website, Amazon, Flipkart, and authorised offline retail stores across the country.Vivo has already started revealing the phone's specifications through its Amazon microsite ahead of the official launch.

Vivo V80 Specifications and Features

The Vivo V80 will feature a 6.59-inch 1.5K OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate. The panel supports 1.07 billion colours and is rated to deliver a local peak brightness of up to 5,000 nits. Vivo says the display will be surrounded by slim 1.25mm bezels.

The high-refresh-rate OLED panel is expected to be one of the major highlights of the Vivo V80, particularly for users who consume multimedia content and play games on their smartphones.

Vivo V80 Camera Details

For photography, the Vivo V80 will feature a Zeiss-branded camera setup.

The rear camera system includes a 50-megapixel primary camera using a 1/1.56-inch Sony LYTIA 700V sensor with optical image stabilisation (OIS). It will be accompanied by a 50-megapixel Night Telephoto camera based on a 1/1.95-inch Sony IMX882 sensor.

The telephoto camera supports OIS, 3x optical zoom, and up to 100x zoom. The phone will also feature a Zeiss wide-angle camera.

For selfies and video calls, the Vivo V80 gets a 50-megapixel Group Selfie camera with a 92-degree field of view and autofocus.

The smartphone will support 4K Cinematic Video recording as well as 4K video recording at 60fps.

AI Camera Features

Vivo is also highlighting a range of AI-powered imaging tools on the V80. The phone will offer more than 30 AI creative features, along with a Live Sticker Collage feature.

The handset will also introduce AI Diwali Portrait 2.0, which is designed to enhance festive portrait photography by improving elements such as lighting and skin tones.

Vivo V80 Software

The Vivo V80 will be the first V-Series smartphone to ship with Android 17-based OriginOS 7.The new software is expected to bring Vivo's latest user-interface features and AI capabilities to the smartphone. More details about the software experience are likely to be revealed around the launch.

Vivo V80 Battery and Charging

Battery capacity is another major highlight of the upcoming Vivo smartphone. The Vivo V80 will pack a 7,200mAh battery, which Vivo says is the largest battery capacity offered on a V-Series smartphone so far.The company claims the battery can deliver up to 14 hours of continuous navigation and up to 39.5 hours of local video playback.The battery supports 90W FlashCharge technology for faster charging.

Vivo V80 Chipset and Geekbench Performance

Vivo has not officially revealed the chipset powering the V80 yet. However, the smartphone was recently spotted on Geekbench, providing an indication of its expected performance hardware.

According to the Geekbench listing, the Vivo V80 carries the QTI SM7750 chipset, which corresponds to the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 platform. The same chipset also powers the Vivo V70.

In Geekbench 7.1.0 for Android AArch64 testing, the Vivo V80 reportedly scored 1,070 points in the single-core test and 3,552 points in the multi-core test.These benchmark results provide an early indication of the phone's performance, although real-world performance can vary depending on software optimisation and other factors.
