OPPO Reno 16T Launched in China With 200MP Camera and 6,700mAh Battery: Price, Specifications

OPPO has launched the Reno 16T in China, expanding its Reno smartphone lineup with a compact handset that combines a high-resolution camera system, a large 6,700mAh battery and a 120Hz AMOLED display. The smartphone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8550 Super chipset and also features a dedicated AI Plus key for quick access to OPPO's Mind Space feature.

The OPPO Reno 16T comes with a 6.32-inch flexible AMOLED display, up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. It also features a 200-megapixel primary camera with OIS, along with 50-megapixel ultra-wide and telephoto cameras.

Price and Availability

The OPPO Reno 16T price in China starts at CNY 3,699 for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant. OPPO is also offering a higher storage configuration with up to 512GB of internal storage.

The Reno 16T is closely related to the OPPO Reno 16 already available in China. The new model carries a CNY 200 higher price and is primarily positioned for the offline retail market.The smartphone is available in Heartbeat, Galaxy Purple and Moonlight Black colour options.

OPPO has not yet announced an India launch date or price for the Reno 16T.

Display and Design

The OPPO Reno 16T features a 6.32-inch flexible AMOLED display with a 2640×1216-pixel resolution. The panel supports a 120Hz refresh rate, 460 PPI pixel density, 1.07 billion colours and up to 240Hz touch sampling.OPPO's official specifications list a global peak brightness of 1,800 nits, while promotional material mentions a peak brightness figure of up to 3,600 nits.

Despite featuring a large battery, the smartphone maintains a relatively compact profile. It measures up to 8.36mm in thickness and weighs up to 191 grams, depending on the colour variant.The handset also comes with IP68/IP69K-level water and dust resistance.

Processor and Performance

Under the hood, the OPPO Reno 16T is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8550 Super processor. The chipset is paired with LPDDR5X/LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage.

The smartphone is available with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage, providing ample capacity for apps, games, photos and videos.

Battery

Battery capacity is one of the key highlights of the Reno 16T. The smartphone packs a 6,700mAh battery and supports 80W SuperVOOC and 80W UFCS fast charging.The combination of a large battery and fast charging is designed to provide extended usage while reducing charging time.

OPPO Reno 16T Gets 200MP Triple Camera Setup

For photography, the Reno 16T features a triple rear camera setup led by a 200-megapixel primary sensor with optical image stabilisation (OIS).

The main camera is joined by a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera with a 116-degree field of view and a 50-megapixel telephoto camera with OIS. The camera system supports up to 3.5x optical zoom and 120x digital zoom.

On the front, the phone has a 50-megapixel autofocus selfie camera. It can record 4K video and supports features including HDR recording, dual-view video and 4K video recording at 60fps.

AI Plus Key and Other Features

Another notable feature of the OPPO Reno 16T is the dedicated AI Plus key located on the left side of the handset. The button provides quick access to OPPO's Mind Space feature.

For connectivity, the phone supports Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth and NFC. Other features include an in-display optical fingerprint sensor, USB Type-C and dual nano-SIM support.
