Nikon Z5IIC Full-Frame Mirrorless Camera Launched in India With 15 Scene Modes and 7.5-Stop VR

Nikon India has announced the Nikon Z5IIC, a new full-frame (FX-format) mirrorless camera featuring the company’s Nikon Z mount. The camera delivers the same core performance as the Nikon Z5II, which was launched in April 2025, while introducing scene modes directly on the mode dial.

The Nikon Z5IIC is the company’s first full-frame mirrorless camera to feature dedicated scene modes on the mode dial. It offers 15 scene modes designed for different photography situations, while a dedicated button provides quick access to Imaging Recipes created by Nikon and leading creators.

Nikon Z5IIC Features 15 Scene Modes

The 15 scene modes are designed to help photographers optimise camera settings for different subjects and environments. They include options for:

Portraits
Pets
Food
Night landscapes
Twilight

After a scene is selected, the camera automatically adjusts colour, brightness and other imaging parameters. More than six settings, including white balance and Picture Control, can be optimised automatically.

In AUTO mode, the camera can also recognise subjects and scenes and adjust settings such as aperture, shutter speed, ISO sensitivity and autofocus accordingly.

The camera also supports Imaging Recipes, allowing users to register their preferred presets and recall them using the dedicated button. These presets can apply a particular visual look to photos and videos without requiring additional post-processing.

AI-Powered Autofocus

For autofocus, the Nikon Z5IIC uses an AI-powered system based on deep-learning technology. It can detect 10 different subject types and acquire focus in lighting conditions as low as -10 EV.This is designed to help users capture subjects in challenging low-light environments, including concerts, dinner events and night-time street scenes.

The camera also features a 5-axis in-body Vibration Reduction (VR) system that provides up to 7.5 stops of compensation. This can help reduce camera shake when shooting handheld still images and video.

Nikon Z5IIC Supports High-Speed Continuous Shooting

The camera offers several continuous-shooting functions for capturing fast-moving subjects. These include:

Continuous shooting at up to approximately 14 fps
High-Speed Frame Capture+ at up to 30 fps
Pre-Release Capture, which records images for up to one second before the shutter is released

The combination of autofocus tracking, high-speed shooting and Pre-Release Capture is designed to make it easier to capture fleeting moments.

Design and Vari-Angle Touchscreen

The Nikon Z5IIC features a streamlined body with a stable grip for comfortable handheld shooting. It comes with a 3.2-inch vari-angle touchscreen monitor, allowing photographers to compose images from different positions, including low-angle shots and selfies.

Touch controls support functions such as double-tap, pinch-to-zoom and swiping during playback. Users can also use touch controls for focusing and shutter release.

The camera uses magnesium alloy in key areas of its construction for increased rigidity and comes with dust- and drip-resistant protection.

BSI CMOS Sensor and EXPEED 7 Processor

On the imaging side, the Nikon Z5IIC combines a backside-illuminated CMOS sensor with the EXPEED 7 image-processing engine, the same processor family used in Nikon's flagship camera lineup.With compatible NIKKOR Z lenses, the camera supports full-frame photography and video recording.The Z5IIC also includes Nikon's Film Grain function, which was introduced with the Nikon Zf in October 2023.

Nikon Z5IIC Video Features

The camera offers several video recording options, making it suitable for both photography and video creation.

The Z5IIC also includes a REC lamp and a red frame indicator on the monitor to clearly show when video recording is in progress.

Nikon has included a Product Review Mode, which shifts focus to an object brought close to the camera. The camera also supports UVC/UAC functionality, allowing it to be used as a webcam through a direct USB connection to a PC.

Users can also connect the camera to a computer via USB for live streaming.

Fish Detection Added to Subject Recognition

Nikon has also added Fish to the Z5IIC's subject-detection options for the first time.

The camera is complemented by the SnapBridge app, which now includes a camera-simulation function designed to help users learn shooting settings through hands-on experience. The app also provides photography tips organised by theme.SnapBridge can automatically transfer images from the camera to a smartphone, while Nikon Imaging Cloud provides additional post-shooting data-management capabilities.

Nikon Z5IIC Price and Availability in India

The Nikon Z5IIC body-only model is priced at an MRP of Rs. 1,39,995 in India.

Nikon says the camera will be available across the country from mid-October 2026 through Nikon outlets. It will be offered in Black and Silver colour options.
