iQOO 16 Design, 100x Zoom Camera Teased Ahead of China Launch

 

The iQOO 16 is confirmed to launch in China later this month as the Vivo sub-brand’s latest flagship smartphone. The upcoming handset will be unveiled alongside the iQOO Pad Ultra, which is expected to be the company’s new top-end tablet.

iQOO has already started teasing the smartphone’s arrival, offering an early look at its design. The company has now officially revealed the rear design and colour option of the iQOO 16, while also highlighting a major camera upgrade focused on zoom capabilities.

iQOO 16 Design Revealed

iQOO has showcased the design of the upcoming iQOO 16 in a social media post. The smartphone features a flat rear panel, continuing the design approach seen on its predecessor, but the camera module has received a significant redesign.

The phone gets a square-shaped camera island with a raised border surrounding the module. The three camera lenses are connected by what iQOO describes, in translation, as a “robotic arm” design. The overall camera arrangement is said to form a “navigator” symbol.

The iQOO 16 will feature a glass back panel with a new “hexagonal tech pattern”. The company has also revealed a Light Chasing colour option, which appears to follow a design direction similar to the Apex Edition of the iQOO 15.

The phone is shown with a flat metal frame, while the power and volume buttons are positioned on the right side. Multiple antenna bands can also be seen along the frame, while the LED flash sits outside the main camera island.

iQOO 16 to Offer 100x Zoom

One of the biggest camera highlights teased by iQOO is the phone’s 100x telephoto zoom capability. Text inside the rear camera module explicitly mentions a “100x tele lens”, confirming that the iQOO 16 will support up to 100x digital zoom.

The flagship will retain a triple rear camera setup, comprising a primary camera, an ultrawide camera and a periscope telephoto camera. The new zoom capability is expected to represent a notable improvement over the previous-generation model.

New Snapdragon Chipset and Gaming Features

The iQOO 16 is also confirmed to feature a new gaming-focused chip alongside the company’s next-generation Monster Super Engine.The smartphone will be powered by a new Snapdragon 8 Elite series flagship chipset, positioning it among the premium Android smartphones expected to launch this year.

iQOO is also teasing improved gaming performance, including console-like ray tracing effects and enhanced visual quality. These features are expected to make the iQOO 16 particularly appealing to mobile gamers.
