Redmi Note 17 5G Launched in India With 8,000mAh Battery, 50MP Rear Camera

Xiaomi's sub-brand Redmi has launched its new smartphone, the Redmi Note 17 5G, in the Indian market. The company has introduced this phone with significant changes compared to the previous model. The new Redmi Note 17 5G features a larger battery, a new design, and improved performance.
Talking about the features of the phone, it has features like 8000mAh battery, AMOLED display, Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 processor, 50MP AI camera and HyperOS 3.
Redmi Note 17 5G price and availability
The Redmi Note 17 5G is priced starting at ₹27,999 in India for the base variant. The top-end variant with 8GB of RAM is priced at ₹30,999.
This smartphone will be available in three color options, including Arctic Blue, Starlight Purple, and Dark Night. The company is also offering customers a bank discount of up to ₹3,000 on the purchase of the phone. Sales of the Redmi Note 17 5G will begin on August 12. Customers will be able to purchase it from the Xiaomi e-store, retail channels, and Amazon.
Redmi Note 17 5G Specifications and Features
The Redmi Note 17 5G features a 7-inch TrueColor AMOLED display with a 120Hz Adaptive Refresh Rate. The display supports up to 1800 nits of peak brightness. The phone also features HydroTouch 2.0, making it easy to use even with wet fingers. The phone's screen is also TÜV Rheinland certified and supports low blue light and PWM dimming.
For performance, the Redmi Note 17 5G is powered by a 4nm Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 chipset. It's paired with up to 8GB of RAM. In terms of storage, the phone supports expandable storage up to 2TB.

The Redmi Note 17 5G's biggest highlight is its battery. It features an 8000mAh silicon-carbon battery, which promises long-lasting battery life. The phone supports 45W wired charging. It also features 22.5W reverse wired charging, which allows it to charge other devices.
50MP AI Camera and Selfie Camera
For photography, the Redmi Note 17 5G features a 50-megapixel AI rear camera. It offers features like 2x in-sensor zoom, Night Mode, AI HDR, and AI-based scene detection. For selfies and video calling, the phone has an 8-megapixel front camera.
HyperOS 3 and Long Software Updates
In terms of software, the Redmi Note 17 5G runs on HyperOS 3, based on Android 16. Xiaomi has promised four years of OS updates and six years of security patches for this phone. Additionally, the Redmi Note 17 5G comes with several additional features, including Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection, IP65 water and dust resistance, and dual stereo speakers.
