Samsung has launched its new smartwatch, the Galaxy Watch 9, at the Galaxy Unpacked July 2026 event. The company's new smartwatch boasts improved performance, advanced health monitoring, and AI-based features. The Galaxy Watch 9 features a new Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear Elite processor, a Super AMOLED display, Wear OS 7, and several smart health features.
Samsung claims that the new Galaxy Watch 9 will provide users with a more enhanced and personalized experience for fitness, wellness, and everyday needs. The smartwatch comes in two size options and the company has also introduced newly designed watch bands.
Samsung Galaxy Watch 9 price and availability
Pre-orders for the Samsung Galaxy Watch 9 have begun in select global markets, with sales starting soon. The company has launched it in two case sizes: 40mm and 44mm.
The Galaxy Watch 9 is priced in India at ₹37,999 for the 40mm Bluetooth model, while its Bluetooth + LTE variant is priced at ₹41,999. The 44mm model, on the other hand, is priced at ₹40,999 for the Bluetooth variant and ₹44,999 for the Bluetooth + LTE model.
The 40mm model is offered in Graphite and Cream color options, while the 44mm model will be available in Graphite and Silver. Samsung has also launched new watch bands for the smartwatch, including Sports, Misty, and Fabric.
Samsung Galaxy Watch 9's display
The Galaxy Watch 9 features a Super AMOLED Always-On Display. The 44mm model features a 1.47-inch screen with a resolution of 480x480 pixels. The 40mm model features a 1.34-inch display with a resolution of 438x438 pixels.
Both models offer a peak brightness of 3000 nits, making the screen easily viewable even in bright sunlight. The display is protected by Sapphire Crystal glass, making it more robust.
Powered by the Snapdragon Wear Elite chipset,
the Samsung Galaxy Watch 9 features Qualcomm's new Snapdragon Wear Elite (SDW6100) processor. This chipset is based on 3nm process technology, delivering improved performance and battery efficiency.
The smartwatch has 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. It runs on the Wear OS 7 operating system, topped with Samsung's One UI 9 Watch interface.
AI health features and advanced sensors
Samsung has made health and fitness tracking even better in the Galaxy Watch 9. It features a new BioActive Sensor, which tracks information like heart rate monitoring, electrical heart signals, and body composition.
Apart from this, temperature sensor, accelerometer, barometer, gyroscope, geomagnetic sensor and ambient light sensor are also provided in the smartwatch.
Smart fitness monitoring with AI features
Samsung has added several new AI-based wellness features to the Galaxy Watch 9. These include Heart Health Score, Fitness Index, Daily Cardio Load, Vitals Monitoring, Hearing Support, and updated Sleep Apnea Detection.
These features help provide better health insights by analyzing information related to the user's daily activity, sleep, heart health and fitness.
Battery and connectivity features
The 44mm model of the Galaxy Watch 9 is backed by a 445mAh battery, while the 40mm model packs a 390mAh battery. The smartwatch supports WPC-based fast wireless charging.
For connectivity, it has features like LTE, Bluetooth 6.0, Dual-band Wi-Fi, NFC and Dual-frequency GPS (L1+L5).
The Samsung Galaxy Watch 9 is designed for daily use and outdoor activities, boasting multiple rugged certifications . The smartwatch boasts 5ATM water resistance, an IP68 rating, and MIL-STD-810H military-grade protection.
