Poco on Thursday launched its new handset, the Poco M8 5G, in India. The new phone will be available for sale in the country via e-commerce platforms in three color variants.
The phone features a 6.77-inch 3D curved display with a peak brightness of up to 3,200 nits and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. The handset is powered by Qualcomm's octa-core Snapdragon 6 series chipset, paired with up to 8GB of RAM. The phone has an IP65 + IP66 rating, making it dust and water resistant. It also features a dual rear camera setup.
Poco M8 5G price in India and availability
The Poco M8 5G is available in three variants in India – the base variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage is priced at ₹21,999. The high-end variant (8GB RAM + 128GB storage) will be available for ₹22,999, and the top variant (8GB RAM + 256GB storage) is priced at ₹24,999. However, under the launch offer, if purchased within the first 12 hours, the handset will cost just ₹15,999. The phone will be available for sale on Flipkart from January 13 and will be available in three attractive color variants – Carbon Black, Glacial Blue, and Frost Silver.
Poco M8 5G Specifications and Features
The Poco M8 5G runs on Android 15-based HyperOS 2.0, which supports four years of OS updates and six years of security updates. The phone's 6.77-inch 3D curved display comes with a 1080x2392 pixel resolution, supports a 120Hz refresh rate, 3,200 nits peak brightness, 387 PPI, 240Hz touch sampling rate, and 100% DCI-P3 color gamut. It also has Wet Touch 2.0, making it easy to use even with wet hands.
For performance, the Poco M8 5G is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset, which is based on a 4nm process and delivers peak clock speeds of up to 2.4GHz. The phone also features an Adreno GPU, up to 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM, and up to 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage, and has an AnTuTu score of 825,000+.
Camera specifications include a dual rear camera setup with a 50MP primary sensor and a 2MP Light Fusion 400 sensor, while the front camera is 20MP. The phone supports 4K video recording and has an in-display fingerprint sensor for security.
Speaking of battery, the Poco M8 5G packs a 5,520mAh battery that supports 45W fast charging and 18W reverse charging. Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.1, Wi-Fi 5, and a USB Type-C port. The phone measures 164x75.42x7.35mm and weighs just 178 grams, making it lightweight and comfortable to hold.
