OnePlus 15 specs confirmed ahead of India launch

OnePlus is gearing up to launch its flagship product, the OnePlus 15, in India in just two days, at a starting price of around Rs 70,000. This launch indicates a planned change, with the OnePlus 15 arriving sooner than its predecessor, the OnePlus 13, which launched in January 2025. Here is what we know so far.

OnePlus has been increasing the pricing of its flagship handsets in recent years, but it has suddenly dropped the price of its most recent flagship for the first time. It began in China and may spread to other markets.

The OnePlus 15 is anticipated to be priced less than Rs 70,000 in India. The OnePlus 12 was introduced in China for CNY 4,299 (roughly Rs 50,600); however, in India, it costs Rs 64,999, representing a Rs 14,399 pricing difference. The OnePlus 11 was priced at Rs 48,000 in China and Rs 56,999 in India, whereas the OnePlus 13 began at CNY 4,499 (about Rs 53,100) and was priced at Rs 69,999 in India, resulting in a Rs 16,899 difference. The OnePlus 15 debuted in China priced at CNY 3,999, which is around Rs 50,000.

Since the release of the OnePlus 13 in India for Rs 69,999, the OnePlus 15 is likely to be either more inexpensive or maintain the existing cost. A price hike appears doubtful, but nothing is officially announced, so take details with scepticism.

In China, the OnePlus flagship debuted at a starting price of CNY 3,999, which translates to Rs 50,000 for the 12GB RAM with 256GB storage. The 16GB RAM with 256GB storage option comes with a price tag of CNY 4,299, which is about Rs 53,000. The 12GB RAM with 512GB storage model is set at CNY 4,59,9, which is approximately. Rs 57,000 and the 16GB RAM with 512GB storage option comes with a price tag of CNY 4,899, which translates to Rs 61,000. Lastly, the 16GB RAM with 1TB storage model price is set at CNY 5,39,9, which is about Rs 67,000.

The smartphone has been introduced in Absolute Black, Misty Purple, and Sand Dune colour options.

The company has provided more information about the forthcoming phone ahead of its debut on December 13 in India. The gadget is known to include a 1.5K 165Hz LTPO screen, which will provide a very quick and smooth user experience. It supports ultra-smooth native 165fps for games like Call of Duty: Mobile and provides excellent visual quality, including accurate colour reproduction and a brightness of 1800 nits for outdoor viewing. The ultra-low minimum brightness of 1 nit enables pleasant nighttime viewing. Furthermore, it is TÜV Rheinland Intelligent Eye Care 5.0 certified, with features like an Eye Comfort Reminder and gaming mode changes to reduce eye strain while maintaining visual richness.

It will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform, with a dedicated touch response chip for 3200Hz touch sampling and a standalone Wi-Fi chip for reliable connection. This arrangement, together with OxygenOS 16, enables smooth multitasking. The OnePlus 15 gaming device features a unique ±4000 DPS gyroscope for accurate control and industry-first always-on 120fps gameplay without frame drops.

The OnePlus 15 has a 360° Cryo-Velocity Cooling System, which incorporates a 5,731mm² 3D vapor chamber, aerogel insulation, and a white graphite rear cover. This technology improves core heat dissipation while reducing surface heat transfer, assuring constant performance and comfort over extended gaming or multitasking sessions and strengthening OnePlus’ reputation for gaming excellence.

The OnePlus 15 will have the highest-capacity battery in its portfolio, a 7300mAh Silicon NanoStack battery that utilises advanced silicon anode technology for increased energy density. It supports 120W SUPERVOOC wired charging and 50W AIRVOOC wireless charging, as well as a gaming-specific Bypass Charging function. Designed for durability, the battery retains more than 80% of its health after four years and can work in temperatures as low as -20°C. The gadget is also constructed to last, with numerous IP ratings (IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K) for dust and water resistance.
