Redmi 17C 5G Launched in India with Dimensity 6300, 6,000mAh Battery: Price, Specifications

Xiaomi’s Redmi brand has expanded its budget 5G smartphone lineup in India with the launch of the Redmi 17C 5G. The new handset joins the recently introduced Redmi 17 5G and brings a large 120Hz display, MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset and a 6,000mAh battery.

The Redmi 17C 5G retains the same design and core specifications as its global counterpart. It will be available in three colour options and is scheduled to go on sale in India from October 7.

Redmi 17C 5G Price in India and Availability

The Redmi 17C 5G price in India starts at ₹20,999 for the base model with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage. The 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant is priced at ₹22,999.

The smartphone will be available for purchase from October 7 through Amazon and the Xiaomi online store.

The Redmi 17C 5G features a 6.9-inch HD+ LCD display with a resolution of 720 x 1,600 pixels. The screen supports a 120Hz refresh rate, up to 810 nits of brightness in High Brightness Mode (HBM), and up to 240Hz touch sampling.The display supports 16.7 million colours and 83 percent NTSC colour coverage. Xiaomi has also equipped the phone with TÜV Rheinland certifications for Low Blue Light, Circadian Friendly and Flicker Free viewing.The handset carries an IP64 rating for protection against dust and water splashes.

MediaTek Dimensity 6300 Processor

Under the hood, the Redmi 17C 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset. The octa-core processor offers clock speeds of up to 2.4GHz and is paired with a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU.The phone is available with up to 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage. It also supports virtual RAM expansion of up to 6GB. Storage can be expanded by up to 1TB using a microSD card.For security, the handset features a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.

For photography, the Redmi 17C 5G features a 50-megapixel primary rear camera with an f/1.8 aperture. The rear camera can record videos at up to 1080p resolution at 30fps.For selfies and video calls, the smartphone gets an 8-megapixel front camera with an f/2.0 aperture.Camera features include HDR, Portrait mode, Night mode, Time-lapse and a Soft-light ring.

Battery and Connectivity

The Redmi 17C 5G packs a large 6,000mAh battery with support for 33W wired fast charging.Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.4 and a USB Type-C port. Navigation support includes GPS, GLONASS, Galileo and BeiDou.

The smartphone runs HyperOS 3 based on Android 16.The onboard sensors include an ambient light sensor, accelerometer and e-compass.The Redmi 17C 5G measures 171.56 x 79.47 x 7.99mm and weighs approximately 211 grams.
