Vivo has launched the Vivo S50 Pro Mini and Vivo S50 smartphones in China as part of its new S-series. This lineup will replace the Vivo S30 series. Both smartphones will be available for sale through Vivo's official online store.
Price and storage options
The Vivo S50 starts at CNY 2,999 for the base variant with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The top-of-the-line variant with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage costs CNY 3,599.
The Vivo S50 Pro Mini starts at CNY 3,699, while the top-of-the-line variant with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage is available for CNY 4,299.
Colour options and availability
The Vivo S50 is offered in Confession, Yoyo Blue, Inspiration Purple, and Deep Space Black colour options, while the Pro Mini variant is available in Confession, Inspiration Purple, and Deep Space Black.
Display and software
Both smartphones run on OriginOS 16, based on Android 6. The Vivo S50 features a 6.59-inch AMOLED display, while the Vivo S50 Pro Mini features a compact 6.31-inch AMOLED display. Both screens support a 120Hz refresh rate and 1.07 billion colors.
Processor and performance
The Vivo S50 Pro Mini is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor based on 3nm technology, paired with Adreno 829 GPU, up to 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM, and UFS 4.1 storage.
The Vivo S50 is powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset, which is known for its powerful performance.
Camera Setup
Both smartphones feature a triple rear camera setup, consisting of a 50MP Sony primary camera, a 50MP periscope telephoto camera, and an ultra-wide lens. For selfies and video calling, both phones have a 50MP front camera.
Battery and Charging Features
Both the Vivo S50 and Vivo S50 Pro Mini pack a 6500mAh battery with support for 90W fast charging. However, 40W wireless charging is only available on the Pro Mini variant.
