Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold with Snapdragon 8 Elite and 200MP Camera announced

South Korean company Samsung has finally launched its first tri-fold smartphone, the Galaxy Z TriFold. This smartphone folds three times, fits in a pocket and offers a tablet-like experience. The handset features a stunning 200MP triple camera setup. This is Samsung's first device to feature two hinges and three interconnected displays, making multitasking and entertainment easier than ever. Let's now learn in detail about the features and price of this tri-fold handset.

Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold: What's special

The Galaxy Z TriFold features a large 10-inch widescreen display, delivering a tablet-like experience for work, entertainment, and multitasking. When folded, the 6.5-inch cover screen remains exposed for everyday tasks. Samsung has innovated the folding mechanism and materials to minimize display creases.

The phone's hinge system folds inward, protecting the main screen. The hinge features a titanium Armor FlexHinge and a double rail structure that distributes pressure evenly. The hinge also features a Fold Safety Alert, which alerts if the phone is closing incorrectly.

The phone's thickness ranges from 3.9 to 4.2 mm at different parts. The display is protected by a rugged coating and a shock-absorbing layer. The aluminum frame ensures the screens don't touch each other when folded.

Battery and camera features

The TriFold houses a large 5,600 mAh battery, divided into three compartments—one cell behind each screen. The phone has three cameras on the back: a 200MP main camera, a 12MP ultra-wide camera, and a 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zooming. There are also two 10MP selfie cameras, one on the cover and the other on the main display.

Samsung DeX feature

The three screens let you run three apps simultaneously, resize windows, or view videos and content across the full 10-inch display. Reading mode and vertical app layout are also available. Samsung has included Samsung DeX, allowing the phone to work like a laptop with four workspaces and five apps. Samsung's own apps and the Google Gemini Live Assistant are also optimized for the larger display.

Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold price and availability

The Galaxy Z TriFold will first be available in South Korea on December 12th. It will then be launched in China, Taiwan, Singapore, and the UAE. The phone will arrive in the US in the first quarter of 2026. Samsung hasn't yet revealed its price, but it's expected to be more expensive than the Z Fold series.
