Poco has officially teased the launch of its new M-series smartphones in India. While the company hasn't yet revealed the names or features of the upcoming smartphones, the teaser makes it clear that new Poco phones will be hitting the Indian market soon. Meanwhile, leaks and certification listings have revealed several key details about these upcoming devices.
According to media reports and tipsters, the new smartphones Poco is working on could be the Poco M8 and Poco M8 Pro. Both models have been under discussion for some time and are believed to launch not only in India but also in global markets.
Poco M8 Series could be based on Redmi Note 15 series
While the Poco India teaser doesn't reveal any specifications or design, leaks suggest the Poco M8 is believed to be a rebranded Redmi Note 15 5G. The Poco M8 Pro is said to be based on the Redmi Note 15 Pro+.
However, there could be some significant differences between the Indian and global variants. According to reports, the Indian variant of the Poco M8 Pro could come with a 50MP primary camera, similar to the Chinese version of the Redmi Note 15 Pro+. Meanwhile, the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ available in the global market is said to feature a 200MP camera sensor.
Certification and design leaks
The Poco M8 Pro has already been spotted on certification sites like TDRA (UAE), IMEI database, FCC, and IMDA. Meanwhile, the Poco M8 5G has received approval from BIS, NBTC, IMDA, and TDRA, suggesting that the phone's launch is not far off.
According to leaked design renders, both smartphones may come in Black and Blue color options, as well as a dual-tone silver-black finish. The Poco branding is placed at the bottom of the rear panel. The camera module is said to be square-shaped and will house three rear cameras.
Front Design and Ports
On the front, the Poco M8 and M8 Pro are expected to feature a hole-punch selfie camera, thick bezels, and a flat display. The power and volume buttons will be placed on the right side, while the USB Type-C port, speaker grille, and microphone will be located at the bottom.
